When I was very young, I used to babysit for a family on Sunday nights and while there, I watched Masterpiece Theatre. In those days, Cable TV wasn't available. It was just Channel 6, 8, 10 and 13. Actually, I think it might have been better--not so many choices. I loved Alistair's introduction as much as the programs. I remember "Jude the Obsure", "Anna Karenina", "Tale of Two Cities", "Crime and Punishment", "Pride and Prejudice", "Lillie", "Upstairs, Downstairs", "The Duchess of Duke Street" and many others. The hosts that followed did their best but Masterpiece Theatre was never the same after Alistair left.
He also hosted a 15-minute weekly radio broadcast that was the longest running broadcast by an individual. The program, "Letter from America", went out over the airwaves for an astonishing 58 years, less than a month before his death.

Masterpiece Theatre Episodes
There's also an archive available with videos and descriptions of each episode when Alistair was host. The videos are just Alistair's introductions and closings, not the actual program itself (due to copyright laws). Of course, the introduction is longer than the closing. Both the opening and closing are in the same video. There's a very brief pause after the end of Alistair's introduction, and then you'll hear the closing which usually mentions a little about what to expect in the next episode.
The title of the archived collection is The Linda and Andrew Egendorf Masterpiece Theatre Alistair Cooke Collection.

Below is a link to the videos. This is sorted alphabetically by the title of the program, but there are other options. The other options (sorted by newest or oldest) seem to be helter skelter and they don't seem to be in any particular order. I think it's still a work in progress.
