I like paintings and engravings of clipper ships and frigates. I visited the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath last Thursday. They have a gift shop and I found a beautiful book titled, "A Yachtsman's Eye: The Glen S. Foster Collection of Marine Paintings." The painting below was not included in the book but it will be included in the author's next book that will be published sometime in the future.Black Warrior by James E. Sea Fever by John Masefield
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by, And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking, And a grey mist on the sea's face and a grey dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied; And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again to the vagrant gypsy life, To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife; And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow rover, And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.

I remember lots of paintings on the wall at my parent's house. You probably stumbled on this site when you were looking at marine paintings. Not really sure. How did you find it? I often find websites when looking at Google Images. If you'd like to register, there's a link to the far right at the top of the page below the yellow banner. Actually, there's another link within the yellow banner that says " Login." If you were just visiting, that's fine. Thanks for posting. I'm interested in art and sculpture although I own only a few framed prints except for an original lithograph.
